A 10-foot diameter disc will showcase an intricate array of overlapping mirrored plant cutouts, celebrating both native and non-native species along the Anacostia River. Mirroring the way plants compete for space along the river’s edges, the layered forms create a dynamic composition that shifts with changing perspectives. By day, the highly reflective surfaces capture and distort the movements of pedestrians below, drawing them into an interplay of light and form. As night falls, a programmed sequence of colored lighting will illuminate the sculpture, casting shimmering reflections onto the ground and surrounding space—transforming it into a luminous, ever-evolving presence in sync with the rhythms of the environment.
